John Deere Diesel Engines
John Deere 6cyl Turbo Charged Engines mounted with Cornell 5HH Pumps
Reliability - Deere engines are built for long life. The engines are designed, built and tested to meet the demands of rigorous agricultural work.
John Deere diesel engines deliver proven field performance and outstanding fuel efficiency.
The performance comes from more than 35 years of bringing diesel power to agriculture. You'll find a heavy, one-piece cast-iron block; hardened wet cylinder liners; hardened valve seats; and valve rotators. All bringing you longer life in hot, dusty field conditions.
John Deere diesels are noted for fuel economy. Cylinder heads are designed with large-diameter valves to allow an easy flow of both intake and exhaust gases. The pistons utilize a high-ring, low-friction design. There's less "dead air" space at the top of the piston. That means quick starts and reduced fuel consumption.
Long term, John Deere also keeps costs low. Not only are these engines designed for long life in the field, they also make it easy to overhaul to original specs. The replaceable cylinder liners mean no boring, and no oversized pistons, plus you can easily rebuild just one cylinder if that is required. Valve seats are also replaceable.
